Image via M&S M&S is surely hoping that live shopping will further capture the attention of online shoppers in previously dwindling categories including clothing and homeware. Sales of these categories are on the up, increasing by 3.2% in the 13 weeks leading up to January 1st 2021 compared to pre-pandemic levels, driven by a 50.8% overall leap in online sales. Live streaming – which McKinsey predicts could account for as much as 10% to 20% of all ecommerce sales by 2026, enables retailers to combine aspects of the in-store experience, such as customer service, with elements of ecommerce such as ease and convenience.
